The Fultondale
Senior Activity Center opened on February 21,2001. In the first
year plans were under way for a new expansion. A ground breaking
was held on June 16, 2001 for a new addition to the center.
On August 25, 2001 the addition was dedicated during our Founder’s
Day Celebration. The senior’s enjoy a new deck that was
built adjacent to new dining hall. There is plenty of sunshine
and fresh coffee for everyone. You can just sit back relax and
enjoy reminiscing with old friends along with making new ones.
There are
approximately 1,000 members registered. The facility presently
serves 115 to 120 people per day to the Fultondale residents
and others in surrounding areas within Jefferson County.
A monthly
calender and menu is planned and provided for all participants.
Daily activities include local competitors playing domino’s,
rook, mexican train, skip Bo, and wahoo. Extra activities are
held throughout the year. During the summer months the seniors
get together and have cookout’s and ice cream socials
in the evenings. Plans are being make to have the 1st annual
Senior Christmas Party.
