Once again the Fultondale Founder’s Day proved to be a day full of fun and excitement.

Better yet, the weather was perfect for this outdoors event.

The weather was very pleasant and we were blessed with a tent for shade and a table already set up when we got there.

If you had kids this was the perfect event to bring them to. There were plenty of free inflatables for them to jump on, including waterfalls and water slides. And yes, I did say free. That was the best part of the day for a cheap-o like myself. There were events for all kinds of people.

There were also plenty of dog-friendly vendors. If you love purses and bling jewelry, there was plenty of these also. There were even vendors for pharmacies, credit unions, hospice centers and tattoos. And don’t forget the car show that draws all of the men in the crowd.

I did feel a little upset when a woman chased me down to offer me a new weight loss medicine she was selling. I tried not to show it, but a friend of mine saw and laughed at me for looking so depressed at the lady telling me how I could lose six dress sizes in two months.

Oh well, I can take the good with the bad. There was plenty of food to choose from and enough music to fill your mind for a year.

At one point I looked at my boothmate and co-worker Melanie Patterson and told her it was like we were on vacation. We were in our lounge chairs, drinking sodas and watching groups sing on the stage right in front of us.

All in all, it was another wonderful Founder’s Day memory that will be stored away forever in my mind. Thanks to all those who made this special event come together so well.
