NORTH JEFFERSON — Bunko set for Saturday

The Aegis Club of Gardendale is hosting “Bunko Around the Clock” on Saturday at the Gardendale Civic Center. There is also a silent auction. Those who bid on items should have cash. Aegis members are selling raffle tickets for $1 each for door prizes. Bunko tickets are $35 each, admit two people and include bunko and dinner. The door opens at 5:30 p.m., dinner is at 6 p.m. and bunko starts at 7 p.m. Purchase tickets from any Aegis member, Iberia Bank, In Full Bloom or Merle Norman.



Fultondale approves business license

The Fultondale City Council on Monday approved a business license application for the Beth Slaughter Agency, an insurance company, to be located at 1810 Decatur Hwy. 31 N, as applied for by Beth Slaughter. In other business, the council:

• reappointed municipal judges George W. Witcher and Lee Barnes for terms to expire on the first Monday in November 2010

• voted to open a bank account with Iberia Bank for the placement of the Fultondale Youth Association baseball funds

• changed the next city council meeting date from March 14 to March 20, 11:30 a.m., at Fultondale City Hall.
